Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) announced the signing of a letter of intent with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., Korea (DSME), for the building of a new Deep Water Construction Vessel. Jan Pieter Klaver, Chief Executive Officer of HMC: “With this new Deep Water Construction Vessel, HMC will reinforce its unique position in the deepwater pipelay market.” The newbuild represents an investment of USD 600-700 million. Alnmaritec, the aluminium boat builder based in Northumberland, recently announced the successful launch of the second in a series of four sister ships to be delivered for duties in wind farm support roles. The Endeavour has been built for the operators North Sea Logistics and she is a sister vessel to the Aaryan launched last year for the same company. (more…)

Following the successful first edition of On & Offshore in 2009, Evenementenhal Gorinchem is now organizing the trade fair for the second time. On & Offshore Gorinchem 2010 will take place on Tuesday 30 March, Wednesday 31 March and 1 April 2010.

On Thursday the 8 October the second edition of the trade fair and seminar Offshore Energy will take place in Den Helder, the Netherlands. The Old Navy Yard Willemsoord in Den Helder was chosen again as the location for the exhibition. The organization is expecting more than one hundred exhibitors this year and has increased the exhibition floor. (more…)
